  • SCD Guide On Dual and Double Roster

    Posted August 23, 2018

    SCD Admins and Users

A Guide for Dual and/or Double Roster Players has been added to the SCD Home Page. ERRORS were found (Copy Paste did not work correctly) in the order of the text. Changes made to clarify the instruction were made today

Summary of what you will find:

Dual Roster is a generic term and not finite enough to describe the options you have in Stack. They give you a lot of options.

Real World "Double Roster" Scenarios. I am not versed on South West District League Play so maybe not all apply

    1. Pool play for travel U09/U10 where you wish for all the players to act as if they are on one team, one practice, but games are across let's say 2 teams. So you have 24 boys who practice together as one team but enter 2 teams in a League for scheduling purposes.

    2. Player practices and plays primarily on one team (13/14U Boys Travel Rec) but regularly plays games for a second team (14U Boys Travel Comp)

    3. Player practices and plays primarily on one team (13/14U Boys Travel Rec) but every once in a while plays games for a second team (14U Boys Travel Comp)

    4. Player practices and plays primarily on one team (13/14U Boys Travel Rec) but will be playing as a Guest Player on "One or More" particular second team (14U Boys Travel Comp) for "One or More" Leagues or Tournaments

Dual or Double Roster Players

This is meant to be a guide and not an exhaustive list of methods for Dual or Double Rostering Players.

    1. This is handled several ways but I will recommend this
    2. Have one Category(place in a Stack Event where player is registered) for U10 Boys.
    3. Add Two teams under the Category: B10U #1 and B10U #2
    4. Add all the coaches to both teams so they can see BOTH Team Connect sites where the League Games are and can coordinate with the other clubs on scheduling
    5. Add all the players to one team. They see ONE Team Connect site with One set of practice and all games from both teams. Less confusing for parents.
  2. Player practices and plays primarily on one team (13/14U Boys Travel Rec) but regularly plays games for a second team (14U Boys Travel Comp)
    1. Player is registered once and added to TR team
    2. Options based on Category structure you adopt
      1. Admin in club uses Add Player button and duplicates registration and is added to TC team
      2. Parent registers second time and player is added to TC team.
    3. When you add a player to both teams then they are on both Team Connect sites as a player and receive all notices and requests for attendance etc... This is similar to the result in League Athletics if you used that
  3. Player practices and plays primarily on one team (13/14U Boys Travel Rec) but every once in a while plays games for a second team (14U Boys Travel Comp)
    1. Player is registered once and added to TR team
    2. Admin in club goes to the "TC Team" in Club and League Connect uses Add Guest Player button and is added to TC team
    3. When you add a guest player they are designated as such and are available as a guest player to the TC team. They are invited to the TC Team Connect but are listed as a Guest Player. They ARE available can be "Added" to ALL the League and Tournament rosters for Leagues and tournaments that DO allow Guest players.
  4. Player practices and plays primarily on one team (13/14U Boys Travel Rec) but will be playing as a Guest Player on "One or More" particular second team (14U Boys Travel Comp) for "One or More" Leagues or Tournaments
    1. Player is registered once and added to TR team
    2. Admin in club goes to the "TC Team" in Club and League Connect uses the Manage Roster button for "One or More" Leagues or Tournaments and then on that roster uses Add Guest Player button and is added to TC team
    3. When you add a guest player in this way they are only a Guest Player on that particular League or Tournament and only show on League Connect for their primary team(I Believe :) )

Hopefully that helps.
